Island ECC in Hong Kong was founded in 1999 as an English-speaking church. It was founded by Rob Penner, who later recruited Brett Hilliard as its first pastor in 2001. The church initially met in rented spaces before establishing a permanent location in Quarry Bay. In 2024, Island ECC purchased the former Sunbeam Theatre site in North Point as its future permanent home.
