Covenant Evangelical Free Church (CEFC) in Singapore began in 1978 as a church plant with 17 pioneers from Emmanuel Evangelical Church. It was initially called Emmanuel Christian Fellowship, and was renamed Covenant Evangelical Free Church in 1992. The congregation began meeting in the Ghim Moh area, with centers opening in Bukit Panjang in 2000 and Woodlands in 2008.
