I have been richly blessed with a family of believers who share my faith in Christ and have a deep desire to spread the gospel, not just in words alone but accompanied by good deeds. All I can say is if you are in Cardiff and need that church family, this is the place to be.

It’s very disappointing that City Church has now appointed a woman to the Pastoral team. This is clearly a violation of Scripture. In 1 Timothy 2:12, we read, “I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.” In 1 Corinthians 11:3, the Apostle Paul also tells us “that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God [the Father].” Here is another clear scripture which informs us that women are not to take “leadership” roles in the Church and to exercise “authority” over a man. I’ve heard it said that “that was just the culture back then, and times have changed.” Well, if you believe the Bible to be the Word of God, then it clearly states that, even though times may change, God does not change [Malachi 3:6; Hebrews 13:8]. Besides, this is not a “culture” issue; it’s actually linked to the creation of man and woman because the Apostle Paul goes on to say in 1 Timothy 2:13-14 that the reason for not permitting a woman to teach is that “Adam was formed first, then Eve” and that Eve was the one who was deceived and “in the transgression” - not Adam. If we go back to the beginning, here are the words which God spoke to Eve, after she had taken of the forbidden fruit: “I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee” [Genesis 3:16]. What you’ll observe here is that God pronounced two judgments upon the woman: firstly, that sorrow (or pain) would be multiplied at child birth; secondly, that the man would rule (or have authority) over her. In plainer words, this is the consequence of the sin of the woman - that God has placed men in authority over women. This is exactly why the Apostle Paul did not permit a woman to teach because he was basically obeying the decree which God made in the beginning. If anyone has any objections to this teaching, we need only look to Jesus, who validated man’s authority over a woman. You’ll recall that none of those whom Jesus Himself handpicked as Apostles were women. In other words, all of those who would go on to lead/preach after Jesus’ departure were men. Indeed, the Bible tells us that all of the women who followed Jesus only took up ministering/serving roles - ministering to the needs of Jesus and the Apostles [See Matthew 27:55-56; Mark 15:40-41; Luke 8:1-3]. If there are any who believe this teaching to be “sexist,” then permit me to draw your attention to Galatians 3:28, which states that whether we are male or female, we are all one (or equal) in Christ Jesus. However, just as there is a hierarchy in the Trinity, with God the Father being above Jesus the Son in “authority” [John 14:28; 1 Corinthians 11:3] so it is with a man and a woman, and God has ordained that it is not a woman’s role to lead or to preach the Gospel in church. I have now made the decision to depart from City Church, as I can no longer attend a church which clearly does not obey the Word of God. I sincerely hope and pray that God will enlighten the eyes of City Church and guide them into all truth.

Church is really good, message and worship is really good, but I think we need more leg space because it is quite squished and so-FiShTiCaTeD

Very warm welcome, friendly but not over bearing. The youth where taking the service on our visit and it was amazing to see how they are growing in faith. Will highly recommend if your in Cardiff area checking out this Church family. We will visit again
